Here is a question I like to know about you believers in science, where are you going when you die?
Depends, myself I plan on being cremated. Other people are probably going to be buried in a coffin. There is not evidence of any sort of afterlife, and the idea of a soul is laughable at best. If you want to bring that argument, what part of us lives after death? I'm going to make an assumption that you speaking about our "souls" ok? In order for us to assume that, we have to define a soul. Every explanation I've heard comes down to one of two things

1)It's what makes you, you. It's our consciousness, our personality etc. That's incredibly flawed however. If that's the case why can we damage and completely change something that is supposedly supernatural and beyond matter, with matter. For instance, a rail road worker was impaled by a rail road spike. Prior to his injury he was a loving Christian father of two with a wife. Everyone that knew him said he was a very kind and generous man. After the injury to his brain, he basically turned into the antithesis of himself. He lost his job, his wife, couldn't keep a job for the life of him. He turned pretty crazy basically. If that's a soul, how can it be transferred to some sort of afterlife. You can also bring up people with down syndrome, do they not have a soul? You can see where I'm going with this, a bunch of rubbish.

2) It's our "spark of life", what brings us into existence. For this case, since we've already shown that it is very unlikely that our personality, "us" per se that isn't a soul, then we can assume that our spark isn't a consciousness. If this is the case, then we won't really know we are dead, we will have no thoughts. In which case, we have nothing to fear.

Face it religion, you have nothing to debate, it's all loosely held, blindly followed beliefs backed up by no science. There is no rational reasoning behind it. If you really want to believe it, at least admit this, otherwise you are lying to yourself. Beliefs in judeo-christian beliefs (or any religion for that matter) are simply counter intuitive.

I am not debating, just want to here the answers. Just cant believe that there are people that have nothing to look forward to after death.

Religion was created because people need to believe in life after death."Ashes to ashes dust to dust" pretty much clears it up.We are ALL just going to be worm food.We will all be recycled into the earth one way or another. It's just too much for most to grasp.
Ya our physical bodies will, I will give ya that

So do pets and roaches have a soul?
I would hate to think "heaven" and the "afterlife" are full of roaches //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
maybe, but I dont read that in the bible, and I don't speak roach. But I am not worrying about them or you, just myself, friends and family to make sure they get to be with our maker. Dont worry all of us will get to meet him.

science vs religion in period is not debatable once again... The reason being is that science has nothing to do with religion. Science. as said earlier, is based on predictable, testable theories. (apples) Religion is based on the beliefs and also as said earlier the "describings" of reality. (oranges) If you are saying this topic is debatable you are either a religous person trying void your knowledge of anything that might suggest your religous beliefs may not be spot on to what is really happening or you are just someone with no true religous beliefs and no real scientific background.. Science is neutral any real scientist will not use science to persuade a religous belief that is wrong. Science should only be used to simply inform and not discredit a belief. so if you say this topic is debatable you really need to talk with a real scientist and understand scientific evidence is only to inform not persuade, discredit, falsely credit, etc any sort of religion

o and as far as what happens to us after we die... Matter is neither created nor destroyed. we become part of everything... Do not give me the excuse,"what about our soul" the soul, as of now, is not made up of matter, is not visible, and cannot be proved (or disproved as of yet) so that is a belief and i will not debate beliefs. what you believe is your right and will not try to persuade you. Everyone needs to belive is something, but do not try to debate beliefs, it will only end up badly

You wont read that in the bible because it was written to make shallow minds happy and not to be questioned.
Christians are like a herd of animals...Convince one and you have convinced them all, scare one and the same applies....
LOL, thats gotta be one of the funnier things I heard. Well I do feel sorry for ya, thinking that once you die thats it, your just gonna be dirt like what you step on now.

I mean simply put is John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Well when religion makes scientific claims, IT IS something we have to debate.

I am not Jewish but I know thier side of the story also.
Im proudly a non believer so go pray for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

EDIT* If I was a Jew I wouldnt sell my $hit so cheap...
Well you not being a Jew means you cant speak for them, you dont know their side of the story nor the bible

Prayer is a great thing, but also you wouldnt understand how it works cuz you dont use it.
