School... racist

Ok the tradition for seniors at a yearly school dance is to dress up as pimps and hos. Girls dress like hos and the guys wear a lot of bling and some wear afro wigs. My school is a private school with like 10 black kids. The school says this cant be the theme anymore because the afro's are racists and is degrading to black people. Am i the only person that thinks this is just ridiculous? Also teachers are no longer allowed to say guys (guys and girls is politically correct).

I mean i see where the school is coming from since most people at my school are rich white kids, but i think that is a little extreme. Id be different if people were wearing kfc hats or confederate flag shirts but banning afro wigs seems a little ridiculous.

I actually don't see what the problem is... as a black guy I hate it when a bunch of white people start worrying about what black people are going to think without any first hand knowledge of what black people think.

It'd be a different issue if the theme was to dress up as black people and you all called yourselves pimps and hos... but you aren't... too bad there is nothing you can do about it, your school administrators are tight ***** and you're gonna have to deal with it. The longer a school exists the more cool stuff they'll ban. It's a fact of life, that's why there's no dodgeball and shit at schools.
