you'll be fine giving 600 watts to each, just set the gains correctly.

you're getting 2 of those amps? do yourself a favor and get one elemental designs nine.1, excellent amp..excellent company..excellent customer service...and a 3 year warranty.

it does 1200x1@ 1 ohm @ 12volts

900x1@ 2 ohms

and i think 500x1@4ohms

it's an excellent amp..and it's cheaper then 2 of those..350 shipped..and like i said the warranty.

get them, and adjust the gain so it will give you 500 watts. you wont notice a difference in that 100 watts and theres no sense putting your sub in danger, even if it will probobally take it.

Alright. Also, I have one of the two hooked up to my temp 560x1 power acoustik and it strains my electrical system. Dash, dome, door lights, and head lights all dim significantly when the bass hits. Should I get two 1 farad caps, or am I better off upgrading the alt. Will upgrading my alt/battery stop the dimming of every light in the car?

im looking at geting two of the new type r's with a orion 1200d, lemme know how your set up works out if you give them 600 watts each. thanks

ive ran 2 type R's off of a JBL 1200.1 before and not had any problems. The guy that has them now is running them on an infinity 1211A. Just set the gains right

upgrade your wiring under the hood first, known as the big three

upgrade your wiring under the hood first, known as the big three
BIG 3 +1

1. the power wire from the battery to the alt. connect from alternator to battery with a fuse between them

2. ground wire from battery to the chassis

3. ground from chassis to engine.

use something like 2awg or 0 awg wire. I wouldnt use anything smaller than a 4awg wire.

4. be sure your power wire from the battery to the amp is sufficient. . .like 4awg wire. depends on the amp(s) you choose. you may need to go bigger.
