So is 38 hertz too high!??

It may sound great tuned that high depending on your taste in music. If you are trying to murder the lows you will need to tune lower. In the meantime avoid using "loudness, bass boost, ect." to compensate for what that box can't provide. You will only shorten the lifespan of your gear.
