RX-7 owners and general car buffs, help me out!

My friend has an 87 RX-7 that she said she would sell me for $250. Body is straight, interior is good, doesn't run. It has the 13B engine and is 5-speed manual.

She drove it daily until one day it just wouldn't start(or so she says). You turn the key and get absolutely nothing, no dash lights or anything. I took the battery home and set it on a trickle charge for a day or two, tried it again and still nothing.

Now My questions are: 1. Is it worth the $250? and 2. What do you think maybe stopping it from starting.

Thats what I'm hoping. She has a clean title and every receipt for work done to it also.

ROFL. I know I could make my money back on parts and what not. I was more wondering if it was worth it as a fixer upper.

yes its worth it. sounds like a wire came loose on the starter or the starter is dead.

no dashlights leads me to believe that it is the main battery fuse/relay.

hard to tell how a rx7 is wired though, ive never had the chance to work under the hood of one

i know it'll be somewhat different, but i had a blazer that just died while going down the road. lights nothing would work. it was the main power wire on the starter had broken. the power went from the battery to the starter then to the car. so the rest of the car was also hooked through that wire.

I'll check in to that and look for loose wires also

i had one at the shop i worke at and found that the fuse box by the bat went bad

I am seriously considering that. Well maybe not an LS1 exactly but a V8 swap. v8rx7forum.com is a fun place to check out.

I'm thinking about getting it drivable with the stock engine and puter around town with while I save up for a 350 or something.
