Running into snag while doing Big 3. Need some help

Ok, I've notice two things in my car and I will post some pics to help the situation. First I notice the power wire from the alternator runs across the top of the engine into some kind of contraption and then another run goes from that too the battery? Here is pic.

Then I noticed the engine block ground is connected to some other small ground wire I

assuming. I have no idea what it is. Here is a pic.

So how do I go about doing this Big 3?

Also the engine ground is so far down in there I'm not even sure if I can get at it with tools.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Im no electrical genius or anything, so take my words with a grain of salt...lol

The 1st. Who cares where the factory wire is going. Run your Big 3 from the amp post to the battery, directly.

The 2nd. Again, just un-bolt that sob, put your wire on, bolt back (Do clean gunk off though with sandpaper). AFAIK, the car is essentially "dead" without the battery connected, so pulling the grounds off isnt gonna kill anything.

Again, just speaking from what I learned reading, and doing it on both of my cars, use advice at own risk.

just run fresh runs. th engine ground can be attached elsewhere most people try and attach the ground as close to the alt as possible to eliminate resistance the the circuit. the alt positive run just needs to be run from the charging stud to the batt positive. the shorter the run the better. some people fuse this run but as long as u are sure it wont short out it isnt needed. just make sure your connections are cleaned to bare metal and tight

Does that factory run of positive from the alternator need to stay connected though? It looks like it powers something else running into that unit like that? If so then I will just piggyback the 0 gauge off the alt right to the batt.

Leave the factory wiring alone completely. Just add the big 3 along with the factory wiring.
