Running a Panda in the US

Oh, any you can start to register old panda's as of this year. If its over like 20-25 years old (cant remember the exact year) they dont have to pass safety inspections

it just makes no sense how u can run it in finals but not in normal events.

I think that info is wrong. Cause he said has to be registered in the US. Which would make all Canada cars illegal for events in the US

ya thats my point as well. that would make yaniv's Streemax34 vehicle illegal but obviously its not. he just competed

Didnt find that anywhere in the rule book.I looked in 06 and 07 rules. I may have missed it somewhere. Nothing about registered.Only thing I could find is this.
Section 4 Vehicle Regulations

The vehicle must be driven into and out of the judging lanes.

Additional Guidelines:

* The vehicle's motor must be used to propel the vehicle into and out of the judging lanes. (Starter motors, etc. may not be used as a means of propulsion.)

Exception:

* Some events may prohibit the operation of motor vehicles. In situations such as this, or when safety is an issue, compliance with this rule is waived.

The cars must be street legal.

and trust me this isn't the first time this has happened...you aren't the first to think about it. Wayne has addressed this before and I believe he made it clear that it wouldn't be worth your while to do it.

Fiat used to sell a similar model here in the US back in the late 60's through the mid 70's.

Why dont you try and find one of those so you dont have any problems running into rules violations?

Technically, to compete, the vehicle must be registered and insured to you. They check at finals, but ive never seen it checked at any other events.

Cactus (christoph) left his car at norris shop and came over and competed with it. He got a special "show only" permit that allowed it to be here for a certain number of days, and I believe if its here for longer then DOT can take the car and crush it

Its basically a mini exreme car. No interior panels, almost no dash, flat windshiled. All the things that make a great SPL car
