running 1 ohm on 2 ohm stable amp

I will not be able to afford an ho alternator in the near future so I'm just gonna stick to my small kicker cx600.1 amp. I'm getting two low-level do share 12s, was looking to get the r2s but I can only find them in dual 4. I played my 15 at 1 ohm on the amp and it didn't sound too shabby, nor did it get hot so is this okay? or do you think it'll be a case of spontaneous combustion in a month or 2

Well, its kind of like playing Russian Roulette. It MAY work, until one day, yes, poof.

I have accidentally demo'd many many amps to people prior to sale, and always would forget to rewire the woofer I was using (i always run at 1Ω or less) and 90 % of the time, the amp would play for a minute or two the either shut off or go into protect.

Its not a good idea. But hey, do what you want.

Or, you sell that amp, go without bass for a bit (I know, terrible) , then put that cash towards the amp that fits.

Thats how I moved up in car audio, started with a sony xplod "1000 watt amp" and a dumpy JL W0, now, i have so much gear I have no room for anything else in my bedroom.
