Rules for port diameter?

a bigger port will increase enclosure efficiency.

2 of these then use this calculator.

That website says I need a total port length of about 20 inches, those ports will only give me 17.

Doing some quick math, it would only raise the tuning frequency 1hz if I used a 17 inch port. I'll just get 2 of those kits.

I think I'm just going to buy this and go to home depot and get some PVC to extend the port to the desired length. That would be cheeper than getting 2 26 dollar ports, right? Is 1 inch or clearence between the back of the port and the enclosre wall enough?

no. for 6" ports, you need at least 3" clearance. *choke, choke*

Rule of thumb - leave at least one and a half the diameter of the port as clearance from any wall in the enclosure.
