Well this might be my experience talking, but if you’re not going to do it right don't do it at all.....

You can do it cheaply, it is just harder...I find more and more corners to cut, but it is hard to do for less than $800. You can piece it togther bit-by-bit instead of lump-sum and get crap.

don't take this the wrong way, but it doesn't sound like you will really notice that that stuff is crap. it doesn't really sound like you want to put much into this, and that stuff will get that job done.

as mentioned above, if you don't want to do it right, you're better off not even trying. however, if you insist on cutting corners, just buy cheap crap (^sony stuff above^).

yeah, HA definitely is not as cheap as car audio.

in all honesty, for that price, i would just do a home theater in a box and at least have surround.

seriously just look at my post...louder than anything else in my entire dorm...enough bass on some songs to rattle stuff clean off the desk...if you want more bass than that add like a dayton 120 sub for $150 shipped to your door
