Ron Paul

I'm would be quite interested in hearing your view on this. Doesn't hurt to try and look at it from a different direction.
I am very passionate about politics, but I do my best to keep it off the forums. I have been doing my best to keep up with learning about the canidates and their goals or plans, and their history and if they will follow through or are they just telling us what they think we want to hear. I am more independant minded, then one sided like the two major parties and what I need for focus on that is best for me and my family is not the typical for the average user on here, so I will refrain.

I completely understand. I like to be as educated as possible, though sometimes I make my judgment call a little premature. I was just hoping you could supply me with more information on some of the candidates that I didn't already know. Since you don't want to discuss this on the forum, which I completely respect, I hope that you could shoot me a pm of all the sources of your information if you aren't too busy.

Media still has a huge blackout on him, ghey.
If it comes down to Hillary & Giuliani, im changing my sig to "We're F%$ked '08"

I hate politics.
Imo, Giuliani would be the absolute worse case scenario. I don't know enough about Hillary to really say anything about though.

No secret, just watch the debates, check their sites, read interviews, pay attention to playforms. Trying to remember all the issues they flipflop on is the hard part. Saying one thing when they voted and spoke out in the opposite direction.

I have no problems with Ron Paul, although I don't have quite the crush on him that some do. However, I would like him to have a good showing, especially considering the horrible position that the media has been putting him in.

I just hope, for the US's sake, that Giuliani does not get anywhere near Presidency.

Hes just another reincarnation of Bush. Nothing will change with him, well not for the better anyway.

Its not that people have a hard on for him, he just has the balls to speak the truth. While he might not be perfect, I see him being better presidential material then most of the other douche bags. I honestly dont like ANY of the other so called Republicans trying to run.

But Rp doesn't stand a chance. Even if he was elected, nothing would get accomplished.
For the 4 things he is not against, the congress would not follow him.
No one knows that for sure & hes more popular then people believe. All those polls you see on the news station, I dont need to tell you they're only the representation of less then 1000 people.

I dont think he would be able to do everything he says either, they never do.

However, at the least if some things change it would be for the better. If only some of the drug laws changed & birthright citizenship are changed and minor changes to the US foreign policy are made in a 4yr presidency, its a step in a better direction.

At the very least, 40-50% of the drug war cost would be cut if MJ was removed from it & taxed to pay for the rest of the drug war against the more serious drugs out there. That would save well over 25-30 billion a year, not to mention cutting off birthright citizenship will close off that loophole for illegal immigrants to come here and get pregnant & live off our tax $.

Hospital ER's would clear up a bit & who know how many more billion cutting off birthright (unless the parents are citizens to begin with) would save.

You and I both know hes not going to be able to get rid of the IRS, lovely thought //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif but I dont see it happening. Same goes for straight up ending the war, not possible. However, things can be changed that would benefit us AT HOME, where it should matter to us the most. I would also like to see that patriot acts disappear, both are ridiculous IMO.

... no kidding. Or the neo-con on the other end, Hillary. I don't know what would be worse. Police-state Giuliani, social programs Clinton. Whatever they "owe" their donors, basically.

But Rp doesn't stand a chance. Even if he was elected, nothing would get accomplished.

Nothing drastic would happen in a Ron Paul term. There's no light-switch to programs in place. However, setting the stage for intelligent governance, foreward-thinking, and vetoing idiotic crap would at least slow the demise of our republic. We shouldn't forfeit to the thought that RP's fight (for us) will be over after election day.

His message, our wake-up call, his catalyst, our cause, full circle. This really is our movement; a truly historic one that I've never been a prouder American because of.

What are his views on healthcare? That will determine my vote.
Well, what question are you trying to ask?

If you mean does he support socialized medicine? the answer is no.

Pro Tax-exempt MSA's, etc.

Check this out:

(ignore the 4000 babies thing, no idea why they keep saying that, its irrelevant)

Im guessing this should answer at least some of the questions.

edit: http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Ron_Paul_Health_Care.htm

Hoping those two help answer most questions.
