Ron Paul

The liberals will probably win regardless.
If someone like, say, Mike Huckabee could take some of what the other candidates were saying and run with it, then the Republicans would have a good shot in my opinion. He was stellar in the debate again last night, although he has faced less challenges than Giuliani...for good reason.

Giuliani/Huckabee '08?
I was thinking Thompson and Romney might join up.

I don't know if it's just me, but I don't see either as much of a leader. Neither is very firm in their convictions, in my opinion, and I honestly don't even think Thompson is much of a candidate period.

I posed Giuliani/Huckabee because Giuliani will draw the right wing conservative votes (like he is already in the polls) and Huckabee can easily draw some of the perennial left wing voters and those who fall in the middle. But they are both strong leaders so I don't know if they would make good running mates.

I was kind of trying to think who was not attacking each other as much. I honestly don't believe in Thompson either. I have a feeling McCain has a stronger following then the polls show. But I have no idea whats going to happen. It is silly how much I am looking into the details and little things on Obama, such as choosing not to wear the flag pin, putting his hand over his heart and not owning a pet, just rubs me the wrong way as if he is not in touch with the public. Also it seem there are too many canidates that will get votes based on what they are, not their past/accomplishments/voting history/experience etc.

Oh, totally agree that the voting won't take past history into account enough...never does, and when people think they are, it's because they're believing everything the candidates are saying.

For example, Giuliani said that New York was experiencing record crime prior to his term as mayor, but the peak in New York crime was in 1990, if I remember correctly. The crime rate in all major categories was already dropping prior to his first term and continued to do so after his last term.

Another real issue, to me, is that I don't trust many of the candidates right now. The real problem with the Democrats is that everything they propose is the opposite of what Bush has done and they're quite proud of saying that...but a number of them have voted in support of Bush's decisions in the past that they are now criticizing. When asked about it, they always say "Well, that was a mistake." Ok, so how many more mistakes are you going to repeat when you are in office?

I do none of these, does that rub you the wrong way too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Only if you plan to run the country. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

if guliani is voted into office, i will blow my head off with a .357 and have my buddy upload it to here, before he does the same thing...
wouldn't that be spiffy....

I don't plan anything drastic no matter who wins but I'd much prefer Romney/Thompson over the others...

I just don't see it happening...

And for the record Ron Paul is an idiot....

Hillary has 0 experience running anything and would spend more money than even Bush managed to spend...

Obama doesn't know shit and is a starry eyed commie at heart...

I think it would be in his best interest to. He has a strong following, but I have noticed they are almost as nutty as him. He just seems to share a few major left winger ideals.
I would argue that his only ideal that he shares with the left wing is to leave Iraq. Everything else that he stands for is smaller/decentralized Federal Gov't. All Libs want is larger and federalized programs. Universal this and free that, it's almost a joke to hear them discuss these great ideas and not touch on where the funds are coming from.

dude you switched both of these candidates. Huckabee is the conservative candidate and will draw the right wing vote as his values are in line with this segment of the GOP (for christ sake he is/was a pastor).

Giuliani will draw the middle voters or independent voters due to his record as mayor and progressive views on gun control and abortion.

At the moment, Im thinking they're all idiots. Bottom line is they're politicians, they say one thing and once they get in, they do the other. Look at what Bush was saying back in 99, they're all full of shit. Ive taken a break from paying attention to politics for a bit, mainly because no matter who or what it is I look into, the end result is still going to piss one off.

As for the Ron Paul followers, cant argue that denim //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Some of them truly are nutty (notice im excluding myself) and thats no lie. Anyone obsessed with something tends to be that way. I may like a few of his ideals, but im not crazy about the guy either.

I meant this totally in reference to their mannerisms, behaviour, and past. Giuliani is not well liked by many Democrats even though he has some Democratic notions (like his pro-choice stance on abortion). Huckabee, on the other hand, is cool and collected guy who can carry an amicable discussion. He is more likely to sway someone's vote than Giuliani.
