Rockford???

Does nobody appreciate rockford anymore? I had plans of picking up a rockford 10, power series, powering it with the 1001 w rockford amp. But after looking around here I am thinking it's not a good choice. I'm looking to spend up to $2000 for everything - the HU, I picked up a clarion DXZ-835mp already. So tell me if I should stay away from the rockford stuff. And I don't want to hear biased opinions like rockford is shit cause it isn't but if it's not worth the money compared to other stuff I would like to know. I listen to rap, and want some loud bass to compliment it.

Well, as with many mainstream brands...they're higher lines are usually pretty good. BUT, if u pay retail at local shops or chains such as BB or CC it's not really worth the money to me. They're power series, like the power HX2 are some potent woofers that get loud...along with their amps which are solid and sometimes underrated. Almost all of the their subs fall short in the SQ...at least to me...they get loud, but sound bad. I wouldn't hesitate buying a 1001bd at all if the price was right...seen some on sale too! BUT, as for subs...and speakers...i just see better out there, especially for the money.

Subs:

stereo integrity (http://www.stereointegrity.com) magnum d2 is simply and amazing sub, it's SQ is fantastics and get extremely loud while mainting it. Great sub.

resonant engineering (http://www.respl.com) SE, HC, XXX call for direct pricing...great company with quality products that are def. worth the money. They're subs get loud...and sound good doing it.

for what you're looking for...i'd look into those two companies depending on how much you want to spend on subs alone...

speakers:

http://www.thezeb.com CDT audio components are great...the classic series (cl-61a) and the HD-cf62 are great. Also, check out US acoustics amps while you're there...the usx2100 would power those components nicely.

so are you saying that the magnum d2 or the re xxx 10' will out pound the 10' rf power hx2? Of course I want sound quality, but the rf's don't sound that bad. Also if I get the d2 or xxx I'm going to have to do it online prob since there won't be anyone in Regina, Sk that will sell the others. And purchasing things online means for much more difficult returning for any reason, especially being in canada.

i liked my power hx2's i had to 15's they hit harder then any sub i've heard but they are kinda pricey i agree their is the same quality sub out there at a cheaper price

There are a lot better than Rockford for that price range. But i do hafta say that they are good products. I don't know why many people say that Rockfords are shit, cause they're not. I've heard the XXX, w7, IDmax, EDK, and many others. I hafta say that Rockfords aren't bad. They're not better, but they aren't shit. The power hx2 are sick. The Rockford HE2 are good as well, they definetely bump. So to all the Rockford haters, dont be ignorant and say "Rockford Sux, get the XXX", no shit the XXX are better, he was asking if the Rockford were good, which i feel they are, but thats my opinion.

believe me, there will be no need to return either item! you'll be more than satisfied with either one...BOTH will get louder than the hx2...and both will sound worlds better. Also, the magnum d2 comes in 12" only...great all around driver with amazing capabilities in both areas. peace

I'm driving a 95 neon, and i'm giving up my entire trunk to these subs I guess. So these are the things I need to know. Supposing I get 2 either XXX or d2's do I want:

Ported or sealed:

Homemade box or storebought(futureshop/a&b sound/visions):

What amp(s) to get:

Is there any way to get these subs in Saskatchewan, Canada?

Is thezeb a good site to give your credit card to?

i tried one of my buddies old school clarion credit card remote and it worked fine, mite order one if i feel like....BUT to stop side tracking lol that 1001bd will rock, and rockford is good for sub/amps and i think the fanatic x comps they make are pretty decent but basically for the sub it comes down to just listening to them

WELL, how loud do u want to be? I mean, one magnum d2 and 1000++ watts rms in a 2.5 cube ported box tuned to 33hz would be plenty amazing! Also, go custom made box...couple guys here on the forum build GREAT boxes...like loneranger. Also, i'd say 2 XXX's would just not be logical...it'd require 3000+ watts rms to power them well...and with that type of power you would need MASSIVE electrical upgrades (i.e. extremely large high output alternator, couple yellow tops) 2 magnum d2's imo would work better if u wanted two of them. Also, the zeb is a great place...ordered from there numerous times and no problems. good luck, peace

there are plenty of places that have RF for cheap, and yeah they are always being hated on by this board, but I am an old schooler of RF, used them on and off for years, and for a great sub that can take a beating the RF power HX2 is hard to beat if you can find it at a good price,

Ok but now my biggest quandry is that when I do get my subs, whatever brand I do, I have a neon, so how am I going to have a spare tire in my trunk? Or do most bass heads not bother keeping one? I'm trying to find a cool, but easy enclosure for my neon. Any ideas?
