Rockford wire? True gauge?

Thanks Kangaroux! your posts are always really helpful and detailed!
All looks great except I'm not sure if I need the 0g. I know 100% I wont be upgrading bc this setup is already more than what I originally planned. So that I'm sure of.

The two amps I will be running are a 2 channel alpine amp that makes 70 rms x 2 @ 4 ohms. That will power my components and it looks like the sub amp will be an mb quart onx1.1000d which makes 750rms @ 2ohms. I havent picked the sub yet but either way it will be a 600rms sub so I will be turning the gains down a lot when I run it.

So what I had in mind was to run 4g to the trunk and split it at the distro block into one 8g wire for the 2 channel and then a 4g wiring for the sub amp.

Would that work or is it not suggested?
The 0g is not only for the optional upgrade later on. It will also help keep your voltage up and is just better to have.

I'll look more into it but how close to the limit am I running the 4g?

I see what your saying and all but my budget is pretty tight.

So I just calculated it all up. If I get everything from knu and go the 4g route, with EVERYTHING, shipped it will cost 98.72

Pretty awesome price.

As for the 0g route, that will be in the 120 range. I also just realized the 0g posted was the "Copper Clad Aluminum." Isnt that one suppose to not be so good?

I'm now going to buy knu either way, but does anyone think the 4g will be enough? I'm def not going to upgrade in the future. I'm on a budget so getting the 4g would be nice but if it risks blowing an amp or something, I'll spend the extra.

The CCA wire just can't handle as large of a current load, I think it's rated at 250 amps where as the OFC kolossus is rated at like 350 amps. For your application the CCA would be more than adequete

yeah, I just searched around. Apparently ppl are saying dont run over 3000rms on it? lol, I'm running under 1000.

So who thinks 0g OFC Kolossus over the 4g OFC?

BTW: for the big 3, same thing. 0g CCA or 4g OFC?

Guessing you meant big 3? Okay, I'll get the CCA for the power wire and for the big, probably the same. B/c OFC 0g just costs to much for me, even for big 3.

Hopefully they will restock soon. Does knu usually restock fast or is it some like a couple month wait kinda thing?

I hope they restock soon because I need some 1/0 too
