Rockford HU Problem

Ok heres the problem...

When I put a CD in and turn on the deck the first 2 tracks always play fine. After that there starts becoming crackling in the speakers. as you go to higher song numbers it gets louder.

When this happened I changed CDs (figuring it might be scratch) and it still had the same problem.

Thinking it might be the speakers I put on the radio and every station worked fine, with no sound flaws.

This has been happening for months and is really bothering me now.

I've been trying to figure out what the weatehrs like when it happens (figured it could be moisure getting to wires) but there is absolutely no pattern.

Anyone who can help it would be aprreciated. I think its probably the laser in the CD player.

The headunit is the RX93000 i think, the one that plays MP3s

im not familiar with that model, but i just would like to say that i was very dissapointed with my rockford headunit. i bout it in 2000 shortly after they were first released. i didnt like the way they looked, but hey is fosgate. it wasnt very good the sq sucked. s/n is only 90. trust me u can tell an audible difference when compared to a reciever that has an s/n of 105. the internal amp was horrible. they may have changed since then but i doubt it. i was looking in crutchfield an the s/n was 80 something. i know its more to a headunit than s/n, but you wont see an alpine, clarion, pioneer or eclipse with a figure that low. its degrading. the rockford i had was very unreliable. when it was cold, it would skip a lot. i would suggest selling it and buying another brand. i used to be a huge rockford fan. i bought anything that said rockford because i thought the name ensured quality and power. WRONG!! i would still buy some of their products, but as far as headunits and punch amps go....NO WAY! get a new headunit man. im sorry for the long post.
