i'm going to be running a single elemental designs e12kd2 at 4ohm. the amp i have now is a kicker 300.2 which puts out 300x1 RMS at 4ohm. the birth certificate that comes with the amp says it puts out 462 watts but i don't know at what voltage or anything. i paid about $300 for the amp from a local shop.

would it be worth it to spend another $275 to get the rockford fosgate power 550S which puts out 550x1 at 4ohm. i don't really want to buy another amp but if it will sound considerably better then i wouldn't mind buying another amp. i've heard some bad things about rockford quality though anyone have any suggestions?
