Ok, me and 2 of my buddies just graduated HS. We were planning a trip From Michigan to Flordia. We have a Timeshare lined up for a week 1100 sq ft condo in orlando. But. We were looking at renting a car to drive down there, Which i've come to notice its probally gonna be pretty expensive. For his senior gift, one of my friends is having his mom pay for his part, and possibly a rental car. But from what i can understand if your not 25 years old, From most stores you cannot rent period. I found one company that will rent to 18 year olds, but will tack on a $25 fee per day. Which i think applies to Each Driver. On top of the base price.

Does anyone know of a place that we could possibly rent from, It would be a 1.5-2 week rental. With Pretty much unlmited we're probally going to be driving around 3000+ miles or so. And most likely an Suv or something larger.

My mom has offered up her van, but.. Its a '94 voyager. its got approx 110k miles i believe and im not sure if it would be a good thing to take down there or not.. It runs okay. But id be afraid of having problems and being stuck down there..

Anyone offer their 2 cents on what to do? Or live in SE michigan and want to rent out a spare car.... *sigh*

dont you have a car and why cant you take that if you have one? your moms van might work just make sure you have your AAA card with you just in case anything bad happens

Just register 1 driver, say you are the only one driving. They wont be following you...

well if we use my car.. Its a '94 dak 4x4 extended cab. With 3 people the cargo space would be amazing in the bed. But the cab would be extremely uncomfortable espically for a 20 hour drive.

I do have the AAA card. So i think its gonna be get a tune up on the van and head down there. Not exactally what i want to do.. but its gonna have to work.

youre truck wont be as uncomforatable as u may think. i made a 9 hour drive in a mazda b2200 ...............4 people in it, we had a blast.

dude just take the van, oh yeah and if i were you i would just go the extra 200 miles to miami alot better suited for your age group i went to orlando, kinda felt like kiddy land to me.

i was thinking about making a day trip to miami one day, and daytona beach another. We're going to Orlando because my uncle owns a timeshare. He gets 2 weeks out of each year and has to pay the upkeep and such. Well instead of himself paying the upkeep, he stays in it 1 week a year, and has someone else go down and stay in it another. Having them pay for the upkeep charges. So Basically me and my 2 buddies pay $600 total to stay for a week. Rather then rent a Hotel out which would be much smaller, and more expensive.

lol i've had some good times in my mazda aswell. 3 people up front and 4 people in the back. since the truck was already lowered, plus all that weight, the bottom shock mounts on the back were scraping on everything. good times.
