is there such a thing as too much power for a sub? let's say you have a DVC sub that is rated at 400rms, 200rms for each coil. does taht mean 200rms is the max it can get per coil? or 400rms is the max the sub can get overall? can i send let's say 800watts to the sub but if i set the gains right, the subs won't blow? need help, this is confusing, VERY confusin. Also, what kind of wire should i use to wire the VC if the sub is rated at 450rms, 275rms per coil. thanks

Ok.... if you set the gains properly you will not be sending anywhere near that RMS to the subs and even if you do it will be a totally clean power and they will not blow. You will be fine running it just as is.

I just know when I'm outclassed, so being the humble, generous, charming guy that I am... I let "AL" have the floor (while I plan my next attack :p ).

No issues there. The amp will output depending on the speaker's impedance rating. Are you using a component x-over or is only the tweeter with x-over?
