whats the most amount of amplifier power you would give a type r rated at 500 rms. I need to know if i can give it a little more than 500 watts because i heard they can take alot of power.
that really helps.................... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gifUse common sense when playing your sub.
Well, if you want me to be honest your question *****. How much power the sub will handle is very install dependent. This is why in all of these "how much will my sub handle?" threads I tell every one to turn the volume down when the coil starts to smell. so for someone like me who likes to play it loud ass hell for 75% of the time, how would 1k RMS do?

kicker zx2500.1 equals real watts. and yea sometimes it gets smelly but i dont give a fvck its just till i get my 15 reconed. bought it for 30 bucks from my neighborThey dont like 1000+ on full tilt for long
Real watts that is, not a 1000watt amp

Higher power doesn't always equal higher output. Some subs can get retarded loud off of low power Choose a sub that is closer to the rms of the amp. A true 1000w is a lot of power for a single 12" R to handle for a long period of time. For a burp it's no problemthats dissapointing, I need a 1k RMS sub that can handle being played at retardedly high levels daily
