RMS & Ohm Question?

If im running 2-12inch alpine type R 4ohm subs wired @ 1 ohm

to a hifonics bxi1206 (specs say it runs at 1200 watts RMS @ 1ohm) will both 12,s be getting 1200 watts RMS or would i need 2 amps to get 1200 rms to each sub?

each sub will recieve 600 watts rms

would 1 type r 15 sound as good or even close to 2-12 type r?

Ya but adding a second Identical amp on the same set of subs wont help becuase its going to split the impedence in half to each amp which in theory is also going to half the power
