RL-P15's or AA Arsenal 15's

We have tons of used prototypes for sale too, We have to get rid of em.. very good stuff too.
Do you have all those for sale at your warehouse?

The only thing I'm worried about with the RL-P's is the aluminum cone, I know they ding up pretty easily. I worked like 120hrs. these last 2 weeks and I got a $500 referral bonus so I might be getting these sooner than I thought. Thanks for all the input guys. I know either way I go I'll be happy with em, and just to let everyone know I will be running these off of a Power Acoustik A2400DB until I can upgrade at a later time.

squeak is anti-AA so just ignore him (but i'm a SS groupie too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif )
i definitely would NOT say that the arsenal is a step up from the avalanche. in fact i find it to be a step DOWN. in any case, i really don't think the arsenal can touch the rl-p in all out performance and potential. as carguy said above, the AVA is definitely on the level of the RL-P...

TEE SEE NINE-A FO LYFE!!
Have you listened to both the Ava and Arsenal?

They do not ding "easily".

I had four Eclipse 88120's for a couple years, and an Rl-p for about a year, both have aluminum cones. The only ding I've ever put in either of their cones was once when my 6-disc CD Changer came off of it's mounts and was literally bouncing off the cones of the Eclipse subs like a trampoline. The subs were facing up in the trunk, and the changer was mounted under the rear deck...so when it fell, it fell directly onto their cone, and the subs were playing at a pretty darn loud volume when this occurred //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

They don't ding easily....you have to do something retarded like that to put a ding in the cone. If it were a paper coned sub, it probably would have punched a hole in them....so a ding is better than needing to replace the entire cone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I would like to know this too. IF not...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/ban.gif.ce8465566702ef9f72e97e794ed1c86a.gif
why, the only real advantage the arsenal has is effeciency? The better "upper end extension" is mostly outside of subbass range, and the ava has over 50% more linear displacement potential. Effeciency isn't everything, and with ascendants "we hate adire" so let's switch techs attitude, it's very likely the arsenals arent' much of an upgrade. AA made the switch to get rid of XBL^2 not because they had better stuff.

Go with the Rl-ps. I own 2 of the 12s and they get plenty loud and sound very good. to kinda give you an Idea I did a 141.7 @40Hz on the TL...thats in a sealed box. and I did a 140.1 @ 38Hz still on the TL with the seald box. They sound very good on all music and Mikes CS cant be beat. He had to go the extra mile to get my my RL-ps because I ordered them not long after Hurricane Katrina Hit and UPS and Fed Ex werent delivering where I live...he spent the extra cash and extra time to ship me my RL-ps USPS. SS is a great company.

Go with the Rl-p. Soundsplinter and Mike, the owner, are a company truly worth supporting. Best customer service you'll ever deal with, and he's really a stand up guy running a stand up company.

Same can't be said for Ascendant, as evidenced by various events in the past.

You definitely won't be dissappointed with the performance of the Rl-p either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Mike has spent plenty of time helping me out, even when he knew that my questions were about an rl-p....an rl-p I was looking at used. He knew he wasn't gonna get a dime from me (at least at the moment //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ) but was still more than willing to help as much as needed. Awesome person and businessman, imo. Seems quite trustworthy, odd to find in business these days //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

As for the comment about AA though, Chad has helped me out a couple of times and I never had a problem with my avalanche and got it 48 hours after payment //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. At $200 I was more than happy with what I got from the transaction.

I have read some the threads about things more recent, though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. However, I thought I'd post my positive experience with them....because you're more likely to hear the negatives than positives.

Speaking of hearing positives, I can't think of another company that gets as much positive feedback on here as SS. I've only seen one bad thread about SS and it was taken care of...iirc buyer started a thread complaining before they even emailed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif.

Ok, how about this. Has anyone ever had a problem with any of those subs? Either in sound, durability, or customer service.
ls1pimp(thinks thats his name) has had a bad experience with the rl-p

But he's a retard so who's cares //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

True.....But you STILL havent listened to both....and neither have I....so its a toss up....I wanna hear from someone who has heard both, as i may pick up either the RL-P, Ava, or arsenal in the near future...
Assumptions are not very acurate representations of a product //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

QUITE the contrary. The ammount of business SoundSplinter seems to see is hardly what ascendant was seeing back when they where having "problems" and thoes "problems" where nothing more than impacient buyers (myself included) and slow/stupid soft part suppliers. The same thing has happened to TCsounds yet you dont see people saying they have bad customer service.

I was getting kind of TO'ed when i had to wait 3 months for my driver but then agian look at adire, 8 month recone turnaround time? However, once i received my driver and chad was so helpful with enclosure reccomendations that i was happy, i was estatic when i saw what a deal i got for $300.

Chad is by far the most helpful and upstanding company owner i have talked to on the phone or through e-mail. His dad (dale) is also very helpful within his knowledge limits.

Yeah, like Squeak said, the cone is pretty durable. I have one minor ding on my cone, but you can't really see it unless I pointed it out to you. As for customer service, I give Sound Splinter an A+. Mike is VERY helpful with any questions regarding SS products. He'll answer any emails you send him pretty quickly, and makes sure that you are well serviced.

Great product, great customer service...what else can you ask for in a company? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

A side note, before I bought the RL-p, I was looking into the 15" Avalanche. I gave them several calls, wishing to speak to Chad. They said they would return my calls. They never did. So I end up getting the RL-p, which I don't regret at all.

To the contrary, most of the issues I was referring to weren't even in relation to his products.

The public ridicule of Adire over a statement that he took incorrectly and put words into Dan's mouth.

Then you have his disappearance from their company forum on SIN, which almost resulted in having their forum removed (they failed to post there for something like 2 or 3 months).

Then you have their failure to support SIN and live up to their end of the financial obligations for being on the forum, which resulted in a temporary suspension of their company forum.

I'm not even to any issues with customers (which are many)....simply bad business ethics.

Lastly, I haven't seen any production/sales figures from either company to try to assume which has been more busy. Some people try hard to make themselves appear to be extremely busy........Soundsplinter isn't lacking in the sales department either to my knowledge. Even then.....if you're "so busy" that you make hasty decisions, then you need to either hire more personnel or remove yourself from a position of authority, because you obviously can't handle the task. So using that for an excuse doesn't fly........
