RL-p vs XXX

The review is not done sorry to say. You seem to be scared of putting both subs in bigger enclosures. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Try 4 cubes. I think ur just scared of the inevitable //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gifLet the Monster SHINE //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Yea, noone is complaining anymore. Thanks for the review Mmary!!
So, in all of the enclosures you tried, which was your favorite for the SS sub? which was the best SQ/SPL combination enclosure, and which was the best sq enclosure overall for the SS sub TO YOU? thanks again

I went to SS site and just looked at the subson the homepage....****....those subs look beautiful...

did i miss ur question? dude, i'm sorry.

my favorite enclosure for the ss..hmm....in the sealed, it sounds really nice. gets extremely low and quite loud. but it does the same in vented, tuned around 34hz.

best sq enclosure was definitrly the 1.25ft^3 sealed...just an amazing sounding sub in there. if a person wnated to go this route..i'd shoot for between 1.25-1.5ft^3 with between 750-900wrms..

best sql is definitely ported..it did absolutely beautiful in the 1.9ft^3 enclosure with 36in^2 of port..tuned to 34hz. got real low, got real loud. if a person wanted to go this way...i'd suggest anywhere from about 1.75-2ft^3 with a the same power.

of course, the SS handled 1200 wrms pretty easily. but it really doesn't need it. if u wanted an SS rl-p, those enclosures/power level should/would keep most ppl extremely happy!!

Put the right power to the XXX's then compare them. SQ will go up (as it will once the sub's suspension loosens up), low end extension will perform better, and output will obviously increase.
If you double or even triple the power to the XXX, and put it in its sweet spot as the RL-p is at the 750, output will be dramatically higher for the XXX. If its even close at 750, the xxx will stomp it at 1800-2500 watts (way out of the SS's range).

put 2500wrms on the xxx today..

it don't like it!! not in 1.9ft^3 tuned to 34hz...don't get me wrong, it can handle it at lower volumes, but crank the knob..lol...and bam,bam instead of boom,boom..

also, i put the xxx in 1.3ft^3 sealed prefab today as well off 1200wrms..it doesn't play lower. it does get louder.
