RIP Kryptonitewhite

Obit says he suffered from chronic depression. If you have never dealt with this, either personally or with family / close friends, it is a difficult disease to understand....but he honestly prolly wasn't able to give objective consideration to how his action would impact his kids.

When you're in the throes of a deep depression, everything is just black. Pure introversion and tunnel-vision, and all you can think of is stopping the pain.

Suhx to the extreme

Depression can be hidden and doesnt always mean you're unhappy. You could have everything in the world you want/need and still be depressed.
Very true. "Occult" or "chronic" depression---or cyclothymic disorder--- is much harder to diagnose than some others. Also, many with these issues still "have" alot to be happy about and don't exhibit the deep depressional states that bipolar d/o exhibit. Chronic depression is many times much harder to deal with than the "lows" that bipolar folks deal with, too.

Depression is a horrible illness. I have been struggling with it for years. RIP brother.
Ditto. Terrible shame to think that he may not have gotten the professional care and prescription(s) he needed, tho I don't know enuff to assume this is absolutely true... sometimes the disease just resists everything , and pushes one over the edge.
