How to you put ring terminals on wire (ill be using 4gauge for example)

i have no clue how (i always buy wire with them on already)

Some one not laugh at me and provide me with some tools/supplies and directions.

Or a vice grip, both work well.

k so basically take the point of the screw driver, and pound it into the terminal onto the wire.

is it necessary to shrink heat wrap the wire? or it just makes it look a bit cleaner?

i always start with pliers. then a hammer to get it nice and snug. you can use heat shrink or electrical tape with the rubber boot over than. if you don't have the rubber boot then heat shrink will of course look better.

i get the kind with set screws in them saves from crimpin

table clamps. get ya a big C clamp and use a table to crimp it on... use that... probably the best method ive tried so far

Just smash it with a hammer, than take a screwdriver and use that to punch an indention in the terminal to help hold the wire more.

If you have heat shrink it helps make it look nicer, or electrical tape

I usualy use channellocks, to start the crimp.

if it looks good - then I transfer it over to the bench mounted vice I have in garage.

it does one heck of a job of crimping the wires.
