Right side speakers dead

Hey everyone,

I just bought a cheap car (1994 Ford Escort LX) that does have a working CD player (though the display is broken), and it seems that the front right and rear right speakers are dead, even when I change the fade and balance from one extreme to the other. When it's all the way right, no sound comes out at all, even with the volume up high. This makes me wonder if it's something besides just a blown speaker? Both of the left speakers are very fuzzy with even moderate volume, so I guess those are at least partially blown.

I want to put in new speakers, at least in the front, but I am worried there might be something more than just the speakers being blown. I've never done anything like this. Any thoughts?

Its kinda hard to explain things to you if you don't know what we would be talking about. It could be just how the previous owner hooked it up, could be a bad radio.. There's a lot of things that can be wrong with it.

Faulty wiring, bad head unit, or bad speakers.

Usually even if the speakers are blown some kind of sound or distorition will still come out, but sometimes it wont

Check the Connections at the speakers, and at the rear of the head unit

Your factory wiring is as follows

Left Front (+) Orange/Green

Left Front (-) Blue/Light Green

Right Front (+) White/Green

Right Front (-) Green/Yellow

Rear Speakers 4" Side Shelves

Left Rear (+) Pink/Green

Left Rear (-) Pink/Blue

Right Rear (+) Pink/Blue

Right Rear (-) Green/Orange

May be overly obvious, but can you see the right speakers to verify they exist in the first place?

haha, Thats not as dumb as you think.

Ive had people come into the shop where i work, and say My rear speakers dont work, and turns out, there was no speakers there at all

if you dont have a volt meter i would just swap the speakers to the opposite side. that will tell you if the speakers are bad.
