Ok.. i have decided to by a sub.. and im thinking of getting either JL Audio 10W3v3-2 or 12W3v3-2.. could some1 give me some advise as to what amp is good for these subs? thanks
Is it a 2-ohm SVC? Or are those DVCs? From the website, it looks like it may be an SVC, in which case the Kicker listed above would be good.
The Kenwood you listed is almost double the rated power for a single W3, but if you're careful with your gains, it would probably be ok. It's also 1-ohm stable, so you have room to add a 2nd sub later if you wanted to.
Just don't trust the specs or things on Woofersetc too much.
I know for a fact they inflate MSRP to make it look as if you're getting a better deal. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
They have a good selection, but not too sure about their cust service. Prices there are meh at best.
Considering they're the manufacturer, I'd definitely take their word for it.
I think that Kenwood amp would be a nice match... decently-priced, slightly more power than you need at 2 ohms, but keeping the gain down and being careful will take care of that. Then you add a 2nd sub later and you get more power @ 1 ohm... sounds like a good deal.
I think those amps have gotten a few pretty decent reviews, too, they're not crap by any means. Probably significantly better than alot of stuff hyped here. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
