ridiculous. want to try and dominate my domestic with that crx hoss? whos saying fast domestics all have to be from the 60s and 70s. my car is an 87. over 400 horsepower at the wheels, 440 lb ft of torque. 12.6 quarter mile on street tires and motor, 11.4 on spray. daily driven. 20 mpg. very streetable. likely turns a lot more heads and gets a lot more compliments than your civic. have raced about 30 ricers, most of them thought they were faster than shit, all but one got stomped. never had to use the nitrous in a street race, except against my neighbors viper. now whos dominating me? i dont know what i would do the slalom in but it wouldnt be shabby at all. and i stop on a dime, believe me. this whole "rice burners own all" AND the "domestic own all" attitude is just assinine. you can make any car fast, a freakin daihatsu if you want. you can make any car lighter or handle better. you're going to sit there and say that 60s and 70s muscle cars can't compare to imports. how about in the sound of the motor? how about the *** appeal? appreciation? (in both forms of the word) power to weight depends on which cars you're talking about, but there were more than a few that came stock with over 400 horsepower, and a couple with over 500. you can take a bone stock ZL1 camaro, ran a low 13 1/4 back in the day because of the tires. slap some sticky modern meats on it, and you're running mid-high 11's with no other mods. think im bullshitting, research it. cars are just as individual as people are, and no certain type of car can "own" another because a car is whatever you make it.
and to whoever say that about the 8.5 second DAILY DRIVEN civic. BULLSHIT.

my aluminum wing makes my car faster by applying downforce away from the front (drive) wheels, i dont care what anyone says

the mufler also adds alot of power, the biggest increase comes from the noz stickers though. oh, and the vtech

 
I cant stand how ill be sitting at a light and have a ricer pull up next to me and not even tell me they want to race. but they are cocky when even after they leave the light and you still blow their doors off. its like if you want to race tell me and ill go.

Im not saying my Doge Ramcharger was the fastest thing around, for all i know it ran 15s in 1/4 mile. but i have beat alot of ricers in its year that i owned it. I prefer good ole muscle cars

pardon me, i stand corrected. the zl-1's were not rated at 500 hp, they were rated at 600 hp. yes they did rate engines differently back then, they dynoed the engine at the flywheel with all accessories unhooked, but most muscle cars were underrated. figure 20 percent drivetrain loss, which is more than was probably seen and its still 500 rwhp.
