RF T10001bd vs JBL BP1200.1

Hey, I'm new to the forums and I need some advice.

I'm looking to buy a sub amp and would like some opinions from the experts on what is the better value. I have the opportunity to purchase an old school JBL BP 1200.1 for $200 or I could go for a RF T10001bd at ~$300.

What's the better value?

both great amps... both put out 1300+wrms.

The only advantage that the JBL have is that it puts out 1300+rms from

1ohm to 2ohms... is a more flexible amp.

i'll agree with the above posts. With the rockford you are paying more for the name, as with the jbl you are paying less for the same performance + flexibility.

im a HUGE fan of rf power amps, but the jbl sounds like the winner here!

The BP 1200.1 was my first amp I ever owned, and I loved it.. The rockford is good too, but like mentioned above the price difference isnt worth it imo.

The BP is the old school JBL right? the one with the orange block that lights up ion the middle? Mine is pretty solid but i wasnt very happy when it couldn't handle .75 ohm daily.

Anyway with that decision being made on to another question. I've heard that, because of the power, you really need to buy a subsonic filter for this amp...Is this true?

Those should work fine.

RF is strappable so you can upgrade to two later and have alot of power.. I believe they birthsheet well over 1000rms...

I would go with the T10001BD. I use it and its a beast. They usually have more power than what they are rated at. I think it would outrun the JBL pretty well.
