Trying to get louder & with better sound quality than the 15 inch XXX in a 4 cu ft ported

I was thinking 2 of these RFT212's with 1000 watts a piece in a 3 - 4 cu ported box.

you think these would do the trick?? Know of anything as good or better for less $$$ ???? Im trying to stay around 3.5 cu ft for my box so something that works good in small enclosures is up my alley.

It would probably get louder than the XXX, but isn't the XXX a sound quality sub? All I know is that I'd kill to have one of those... heh

Those T2's could definitely take more than 1000 watts each. I have a Hifonics BXi1206D pushing just one T1 15. They could probably handle upwards of 1500 watts RMS.

Who said anything about the L7 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

He has a 15" XXX, I don't think he'd be looking at an L7. I'm honestly surprised hes considering the rockfords over it. I haven't heard the T2's though, or the XXX, so I can't give a great comparison.

what does nG mean??

yea the XXX is gone, just got pmt. last night. It was a great sub but just doesnt sork for my setup. I just want any 2 subs that will be louder than it by a little bit. Not like 2x as loud, just something louder, in a size 10 or 12. And where the box can be smaller or at least shorter.

Something like 14 high x 30 wide x 19 deep would be ideal. Not sure what that comes out to in cu. ft. but would be good with my trunk. Does that come out to 4.6 cu. ft. ??

Wouldnt mind buying used. Rather stay under 300 per sub.

I think that'd work out to around 3.5 cubic feet. Thats the rough dimensions of my box. It may be a little smaller actually. With those dimensions 2 10's would be pretty good. It'd be a little small for 2 12's. What about one really really good 12" sub?

I hate single sub setups. Maybe its just ignorance, but all the good systems ive heard had 2 subs at least. I think any 12 i get will probably be a downward or lateral move.

My best setup i ever had was 2 orion xtr series 2 subs on an orion 225hcca putting out around 500 watts total. It was in a free box so it wasnt good im sure. I think it was a bandpass or something with both subs inside(no cone showing) I dont believe it was ported either.

That setup blew my XXX setup away. Bass was tighter, it hit the notes perfectly, wasnt muddy at all like it is now sometimes. It was in a different car but i would say the bass definitely hit harder, or at least flowed through to the cabin better. My ears have never hurt with my xxx with bass all the way up. My ears would hurt on every song with those Orions. I lost hearing temporarily in my right ear twice with those Orions. This is with both seats down in my current car too vs one seat down in my old Mercury Tracer. 90% of the time there are no rear passengers so i dont mind. The box i have now completely covers up the hole from trunk to inside of the passenger cabin. Probably that box is just too big for my trunk and thats whats going on. I think it would sound 3x better in an SUV but i dont have one.
