RF HE2 Wiring

I bought 2 12" HE2's off a friend of mine. the way he has it wired is just neg on the amp to neg on the sub and pos on the amp to pos on the sub. with the 4 ohm subs dont you have to wire the back of the sub to run it on 4 ohms and the way he has it is only running 2 ohms? i just dont wanna blow channels on my new eclipse 34230 any input would be great thanks.

the back of the speaker has the inputs for both voice coils + - for one coil and + - for the other. he only has one wired. thus it is only a 2 ohm load. is there a wiring configuration you need to get a 4 ohm load. im trying to wire two of the speakers to the amp. the amp is not supposed to go below 4 ohms. they are 4 ohm subs i know but do the voice coils need to be wired to acheive 4 ohms. sorry if i lost you:crazy:

so it is a dual voice coil 4 ohm per coil?

to achieve a 4 ohm final load with 2 subs you need to wire them in series/parallel.

wire one neg on each sub to a pos on the same sub. then just just the remaining neg's and pos's together to the amp.

you have to use both voice coils on each sub

sorry for not stating they were dual voice coil 4 ohms. so i wire the positive from both coils together and the negative from both coils together and then wire those to a channel on the amp. then repeat on the other speaker and i wont drop the load from 4 ohms? thanks for all the newbie help

http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com look up the wiring diagrams.....you're way too confusing.But I'd say the way you're planning on wiring it will kill the amp (1ohm).

When i went on the rfteck wiring wizard it shows me to hookup the subs in a way to achieve 4 ohms but running them to a mono amp.

i dont think you can wire the eclipse 32430 to be a mono. i believe it is only a 2 channel. i have the specs on the amp here. http://cartoys.com/cartoy/pdfs/eclipse_amp_manual.pdf

okay i guess i will have to run one voice coil to one channel on the amp for each sub. it looks like this is the only way of doing this due to the fact that the amp is a dual mono block. the diagrams show the 2 channel amp bridged to mono and this amp cannot be bridged as far as i know. the amp has a switch to go from L+R, Mono L Channel, and stereo. squeak9798 had this amp and im waiting to hear from him to find out any more specifics on the amp. thanks for the help.
