RF 800aII vs. JL Audio 500/1

Let me start off by saying I don't know much about amps. I currently have a Fosgate 800aII running 2 Alpine type R 10" subs. A guy I know who is a professional installer suggested I go with 2 Kicker square subs and a JL Audio 500/1 amp. My question is wouldn't the RF 800aII put out more power to the subs than the JL 500/1??? Before anyone asks how my system is set up right now, I am not sure. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif I take it to a shop and they hook it all up and make it sound good, that's all I know. Thanks for any help.

kicker is good stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif anybody who said otherwise probably had a bad experience with them... probably user error. they CAN sound good, and they DO sound good, you just have to KNOW HOW to build a box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

to answer the original question : i like JL amps (despite price). you dont need an upgraded charging system to run one, and they push full power from 1.5 - 4 ohm (very easy for the USER).

depending at what impedance you run you subwoofers at, the fosgate would put out more power. if you want to get louder i would keep that amp and get 2 kicker L5 10's. last years model can be had for cheap. you can still make the kickers sound good, just depends if you want SPL or SQ.
