i hear that this amp is stable to 1 ohm, but i also hear that it is only stable down to 2 ohms. also, it does put out more than 1500 watts right? i tried searching and am confused.

mtx 1501d or rf 1501bd? differences?....out of the two, which to power my d2ohm xxx15 with? i need a new, more powerful amp. thankyou.

Neither manufacturer recommends either of those amps be run below 2 ohms, however like you said people will tell ya both ways. IMO I'd look at something else if you already have the sub. If you don't have it just order a dual 4 ohm. If you do have the sub look at many thing like phoenix gold, kicker, (i have never ran or heard one) but many people on here run jbl and hifonics. I am sure both the rockford and mtx will make 1500+ watts easily with a proper electrical system.

Both are only stable to 2ohm. And both will do a bit over 1500w @ 2ohm on a strong electrical system (my RF 1501bd came with a birthsheet of 1722w). I have had people tell me that they ran their 1501bd @ 1ohm, but I've had more people tell me that they have tried it and it didn't work so well.

If you are wanting to run a D2 subwoofer, you need to look for another amp cause neither of those are a good option. If you want to run either of those amps, then you need either a D1 or D4 subwoofer.

factory no, but the mtx 1501d can be modified to do 1ohm fine... search the forum for instructions on modding it, but like they said jbl and hifonics are good amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yes, but you also increase your chances of frying the amp since the protection is removed. Between a modded amp and a "factory" amp capable of 1ohm; I'd go with the amp 1ohm stable without being modded.
