Revised System.... w/ your help!

OK, in my earlier thread I was thoroughly shamed for falling into a salesperson's trap to buy almost all JL stuff at an inflated price. I took the advise of everyone and looked around and here's a revised system:

EF-61FG - CDT Audio EuroFrame 6.5" 2 Way Component Speaker System: $199.99

PDX-1.600 - Alpine 1 Ch 600 Watt Power Density Digital Amplifier: $349.99

PDX-4.150 - Alpine 4 Ch 600 Watt Digital Amplifier: $449.99

12W3V3-4 - JL Audio 12" 600 Watt 4 Ohm Subwoofer: $209.99

MAX675VD - Clarion 7" touchscreen Double-DIN DVD Multimedia Station: $679.99

(I also like the Alpine IVA-W205)

Subtotal: $1,889.95

My budget is $2000 to $2500 for everything -- and my goal is (1) excellent sound quality for diverse music, and (2) excellent iPod & Sirius integration. Am I on the right track? Any recommendations? Someone want to put together a system for my budget to show me something better? I'm begging for help -- I'm a university professor and this is my first attempt to upgrade a sound system in my vehicle (FJ Cruiser TRD SE).

A W3 ain't gonna like 600w. Look into something a bit beefier.

Try a 12w6 or even a 13w6 if you are working with 600 watts. I think the only subs from JL that are worth looking at are the w6/w7.

IMO your off to a way better start! Its good that you took everyones advise because you have changed it up now and your getting more equipments at a WAY better price. If your looking at the double-din units check out pioneer, jvc and eclipse ones because they have comparable or better features. Also a W3 may be a little less bass than you want and you may upgrade to the W6 or if your bass hungry W7. Quite a price increase though so if your happy with what you have choosen I would back your decsion on your system! Good luck with the install and less us know how it soundsand take lots of pics!!
