reversing phase???

nope its a zx1500, so just switching the pos and neg on the amp wont blow the amp correct
nope, if you were to short from pos to neg it will at least blow a fuse, hopefully there would be enough protection in the amp not to blow the whole thing.

just switch em around...i mean, most the time people don't even think to make sure the pos and neg terminals on the box are connected to the right ones on the subs themselves.

no it wont hurt u r amp but if they are +to+ and -to- you should be fine and if there is a phase prob.you can tell the diff, was stated earler that you could not tell but between u r sub amp and comp amp say your comp. are out of phase it wont affect your subs

You should wire everything to be correctly phased, positive to positive, until you have a very specific reason to reverse it.

A very simple way to check phase on woofers is to, first disconnect the speaker leads from the amp, then touch the speaker leads to a 9 volt battery.

With the positive of the battery to the positive speaker wire, the sub should move out and lock in that position. When you reverse the battery the sub should move to its lowest position.

You can do this again with your mid/bass speakers to see if they are moving in the same direction.

This device below is the best method (and the only way to verify tweeters):

ok so if i use the 9volt and pos to pos and neg to neg the sub moves out so they are in phase but how do you know if you should reverse the phase or not

again, its easiest to just try. typically the choice is based on "is the speaker far from the other speakers" or "does the crossover inheriently cause a phase mismatch" often the tweeters are not "close" to the mids, and the woofers are not "close" to the mids. its always best to keep track of which speakers you've flipped. from there its just determining what you like best. unless you have something like an RTA or spectrum analyzer that can make objective measurements.
