revamping box

im planning on rebuilding my box. trying t0 get some more SPL out of my system. im goingto take out my rear seats and make the box almost double the size, does any one know what kind of affect a bigger box would have on my subs or does the tuning have the most to do with it. right now my box is 6 cubic feet tuned to 38hz. any ideas what i should do with the new box?

[offtopic] dont get me wrong, but if you dont know the basics of how a double size enclosure will effect your subs... why are you doing this straight SPL install by yourself?
