For example, everyone $hits all over BEN and ED about their shipping taking forever in addition to the problems with getting the amps from them... I have purchased deadener from them and have had no problems with the shipping, although the edead falls off.

Curious, why do you spend your hard earned money on a product that fails you, and then support it?

I'm talking about your refrence to the deadener which falls off, leading to the product not properly operating.....

it could very well be a bad install and not the product. i had the same problem with edead but changed how i was installing it and its worked great

 
Like I said before... I love RE's products.... and when Dave is free.... I get all of my answers in a matter of seconds...

But the 10 times (buying my SE, SX, XXX and alot of questions in-between) the only answers the guy could answer me on the phone was;

Price

And expected shipping date.

Other then that he would put me on hold for a minute, then come back to say "Well I couldn’t find anyone to ask that question to". But the weird part was my questions were simple (example, xmax of the sx compared to the xxx. Or which was more recommended sealed or to port the XXX to help out the XBL^2).

So then I would have to get online and wait for Dave to be free, and online. And personally I got sick of bothering the guy and asking him a butt load of questions after he was JUST at work, and everyone knows he’s one BUSY *** guy.

Email would take WEEKS to get answered.

Do I recomend RE... hell ya I do. But I think they need someone else to work up front at the phones.

(My responds is based on about 3 months ago. Which was the last time I talked to RE over the phone, since then I do not know if they have updated the guy at the front.)

 
^^ yea i agree. I have always been happy with the service i got, because i always got my answers, but it took the little asian guy like 10 minutes to give me a price for a SX 12...

 
How could their techs not know the specs on the subs they once sold? It is not like they put out 100's of different models of subs, someone there should be able to retain the specs on 20 or so subs... Idiots, that is idiotic.
For the rest of you who tried to make excuses for the company, that is stupid. What is the point of that, do you work for them? How could you think them not knowing about THEIR product can be excusable?
no doubt i know companies that can and do keep specs een on "special woofers" i mean if they designed them and sold them it shouldnt be too hard for them to figure out. im not saying they are bad (so dont think that way) i just think its peculiar.

 
the author is complaining about customer service...

the receptionist is not there to tell you every spec about the sub. he does what he is exactly told to do, answer the fone; persuade you into a sell, and purchasing.

if you want questions or specs ask the tech.

and if the tech doesnt know, surely some1 on this board will

why should someone on a board know? im not ripping them exactly but if you produce it saving info on a page even in a book should be done. look at rf or alpine id or about any other manufacturer you can go back 10 years in alot of cases if not more lol. tip for re..if u build it save specs into a safe little black book it will keep people happy

As stated, if you want technical support. You had better be talking to the right department.

 
from what i heard in an email. RE's real backed up and had to hire people just to answer emails, phone. just some info. sorry if some one posted this all ready

You know what's kinda funny. For years people complained that RE needs to hire a secretary or someone to answer the phone. So they do. And now everyone complains that said secretary (or whatever) doesn't know anything...LOL

Which would you rather have; someone who answers the phone but doesn't know every last detail, or only every 1 out of 3 calls being answered, but answered directly by a tech guy?

i was thinking the same thing

everyone complained that they needed more help, so they got it, now everyone complains that they dont know anything

it takes time for someone to learn everything that Dave knows
