im not saying its right or wrong. im just saying that adire does it now and then. and if RE wanted to, they could claim its a copyright infringment. its THEIR call weather to push for them to be removed or not.

i have SEEN 'bnib brahmas' get deleted off ebay when there were multiples of them from the same guy.

if i had the $ to buy 10 RE RE 12's and re-sell them. i would have. but i didnt, and thats how life is.

Shoot I had the money. But I just don't see that as being right. Seeing as how RE went out of there way to hook us up with the group buy and all.

It would only be trademark infringement if 1) The items were not truly RE products, and 2) The trademarked name is being used intentionally to confuse the buyer and make them think they are buying a geniune RE product, when the item truly is not. Beyond that, you can use the manufacturer's name as often as you like to identify the product.

then explain why adire has taken items off in the past. particularly a brahma mk2 that i saw way back when, and was deleted back in the day after a thread was started and steve kephardt said he would look into it - i dont remember the details. but how come they did that?

The guy could have been claiming to be an authorized dealer. Or claiming it was going to be covered by factory warranty? But just for using the manufacturer's name to describe a product they produced, you can not claim trademark infringement.

yeah but the purpose of having a group buy is to help those who maybe can't purchase items at the normal prices. Granted yes some people do what this person has, but I'm pretty sure group buys are not intended for people to pay less then the normal prices and turn right around and make a profit.
he can do whatever he wants though, just my 0.02 on the matter

the group buy was indented so help some people out. it was also intended to get some people to try out RE that might not have had the prices not been lowered. some people bought RE comps and resold them, just to get the 15% discount on everything else.

is taht a bad thing?, nope

whats the big deal. RE did the group buy to sell products not because they love you all. They made their money off of them. They set their objectives and price and it was successful. If somebody wants to buy them from this person at his price so be it. Believe it or not RE will make and sell more speakers.

There is NO copyright infringment there at all. He's not masquerading non-RE products as RE products, nor his he claiming the brand is his own.

He is reselling products, there is absolutely NOTHING illegal about it. RE can't, and won't, do a **** thing about it. I doubt they really give a shit, honestly.

If his story is correct, he's just selling off stock. Either way, so long as they are legit RE products, there really isn't any grounds for complaining whatsoever.

I havent read every single post, but if stuff like this continues to happen, companies will just give less and less group buys
