Resonant Engineering got bought!

another kinda on topic post.
yeah RE is gone.

There will be something their to fill the void.

supply and demand.

some people (as surprising as it is) are not money grubbing people and rather want to stay close with consumers and give good customer support.
So what your saying is people start companies to NOT make money. Sure, Im sure RE's goal was to be broke but have happy customers.

PS. There already is a company filling their void. Just wait like I said in one of my previous post.

I am not syaing people start a business to go broke.

what i meant is that some people are rather happy making a "comfortable" living doing somethign that they love and having fun with.

When others focus only on the business and "money" aspect of it.

I am sure all the incriminator guys look at it the same way, if you can make a decent living while having fun and being one on one with your customers would be alot better then being completely stressed out worrying about extracting the last ounce of money out of every product.

also as for my fill their void thing... i am already waiting //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

He's saying if RE wants to become a big boy...they'll get eaten alive //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif. Warranty is subpar compared to any other "top company" Service was terrible, wonder how much it has really improved. From what I hear, many dealers are still shitty as hell //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif. Still no marketing, from what I've seen.

I'm sure every business starts to turn a profit or is bought to turn a profit, does this happen even half the time....no //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

Imo, RE got away with a lot of shit just because they had good prices. They do that shit now and its all over //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

Only time will tell for RE, I'll say that imo....they have a ton of things that need to be improved.

Like canadian support.

poor 2loud4u is getting royally screwed by a canadian RE dealer.

pathetic service for canada by dealers and direct it is really sad.

I know most of you guys hate canada :p but we are still buyers

I called the phone number on RE's website, hoping to speak with a Resonant Engineering employee. Instead, I got some dude in California who said he works for USAmp. He said USAmp bought out RE with plans to offer a full range of car audio products (presumably to take on the big boys).
He said a few things which concerned me:

1) RE doesn't sell direct to the consumer anymore; you have to buy from a dealer at dealer's prices.

2) You cannot speak directly with anyone at RE anymore. When I first bought my RE sub, I talked to one of the techs who made my sub. That was pretty cool.

3) The guy was a salesman. f.ucking ICK! I had to take a shower after talking to him, that's how slimy I felt. As a former salesman, I HATE salesmen.

I prefer dealing with smaller, high quality shops like what RE used to be.

Oh, well...I guess that's called progress.

Has anyone had experiences with USAmp/RE since the buyout?
without a sale nothing happens, take it easy on the salesman badmouthing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif this is funny just cuz US amps took your precious RE away you suddenly hate them. literally overnight the hatred began which was so crazy. eh well thats how things are. no point in complaining, it wont change anything. i personally dont like the way the RE buyout was handled but what can I do? also think about it people, the online community is a VERY VERY small demographic in the car audio world from a business standpoint

thats the basic kiss my *** i dont care attitude that i dont like to see.

70+ship recone into 159 + ship fro a recone.....the lame....

grandfatherishly sounding yes....i just needed to ventilate a lil

with us amps reputation they can probly get away with those prices.....just sucks for the ol' DYI internet based car audio crackheads that get the *** end of the deal......o well.....

Well, I just went to the newly-designed RE Audio website...

Definitely a step backwards for their web presence, imo.

Anyone know of any other sub manufacturers that haven't sold out and still deliver a high-quality product at a fair price like RE used to?

I heard they got bought out by McDonalds Corp. They new line of McAmpy Meals and McSubs will be out by x-mas 06. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
