//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifI have been, I just dont want to get too expensive. I was working for $10/hr + Materials. Now I do $15/hr + 5% mark up.
I will agree, 75 seems rather high, but that all depends on the quality of the shops work and the local economy. Alot of autodealerships and repair shops charge that. If the shop has good technicians 75 dollars could be quite reasonable. A good shop that actually tries hard and does good work should be paid well for it. Especially since most sales are lost to the net or below MSRP in the shop because of the net..The shop charges $75/hr if I remember right, and they round up.
They charge you $80 in materials for a basic small sealed box. That is assumeing they dont just throw a premade box in there and charge you 2hrs labor + the cost of the box.
Sometimes that is all people want. Depending on the market glass work may not be profitable(people may not want to pay waht the shop needs to charge for glass). Prefabs are fine for most people . People only have so much money they want to spend, should a shop deny them subbass because they dont want or cannot afford a custom enclosure? They will go somewere else to get it, maybe a worse shop if a shop refuses top sell them a prefab. I have always believed if someone wants a prefab it is our job to make it the best we can with what the customer gives us to worlk with. Shops are not the ultimate evil because they use prefabs and 5/8 mdf.I can understand high hourly costs...just not for the work they do. They wont even do fiberglass work. Basic boxes pre programmed into their $2000 automated saw or prefabs made out of 5/8 MDF.
Seriously?im 17 and ive used the RE series, and the CVR series, and ive seen the numbers both have thrown up.
