RE's new packaging

I have more experence than you think. Installing people systems has allowed me to play with a lot of woofers with out me paying a dime //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

testing a woofer doesn't always equal experience if you're not doing custom install work on each car to figure out optimal tuning and imaging. at least not IMO. you're getting basic knowledge which if you charge and people pay, you already have that.

Seriously?

I've been debating with a 17 year old? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif
LOL, like you havn't before //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

Me an CB are the same age, an I also started out (I think with you CB? u might have been around a lil longer) over on AF, an I second what CB had to say about Germanyt(LOL). I consider myself a fairly well knowledgable 17 year old, with alot of leaning and experience ahead of me ( as CB pretty much knows my 'audiophile level') an CB knows more about the tech. aspects (he likes to google alot, loljk), but I still PWNT him in systems //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :D //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i modle the enclosures as best i can to their wants...testing? not much beyond enclosure placement. Either way noah still thinks the only driver ive ever played with is an avalanche.
Nope.

Your still just Mr. Regurgitation... and always will be.

you design to the customer's wants meaning what? someone says "i want maximum SPL and i don't care how it sounds." you take and build, rebuild, build, rebuild, then test, re-test, test, re-test, test, re-test then re-test the re-test? i only ask as that's the way you build experience. not to sound like a sack rider but i know of a few peeps on this page that have done that anyone care to guess who?

I just read this entire thread and I'm not surprised with where this thread has gone considering CB popped in. Apparently he hasn't grown up since my first experience with him over on Automotive Forums. As a person who intends to open an audio shop I can sort of see eye to eye with 12r on a lot of his points. You can't only sell stuff you like because you like it. You have to cater to a broad group of people. As far as RE is concerned I own two SX 15s and I paid 480 for the pair. I don't care what anyone says that is well worth it. I think 480 each would have been worth it. Thats just my $.02.

If you are planning on opening up a new shop good luck, its gonna be tough. The internet kills the profit on most sells now, and unless you can get authorized by some well known companies(RF,JL,Kicker,Alpine, etc. )it is almost impossible. If I had to do it now I would try to buyout a shop that is already established. One thing about it though, even if you can afford the big name buyins, you won't make much off of 'em because of the net. Thats why you've got to have some names like US Amps/RE that are not readily available on the net. When you get your first dealer price sheets for Kicker and the other big guys it is gonna make you want to cry:crap: . And your right, if I only sold what I would personally run in my setup, I would be out of buisiness real quick.

I started out when I was 13...or that was my first step into the real car audio world. I was helping a friend with an SPL install constantly.

I look carefully at transient responce, sub and port placemement and what has worked best in similar vehicles in the past. I fit enclosures where customes want them fitted.

One was told by the local shop it was imposisble to fit 2 12's sealed under the seat of an extended cab GMC 1500...i fit 4 8's...ported.
