RE's new packaging

what RE sub is price point to kicker sub? aren't comp vr's around 150? and the highest kicker sub is the solo x which is price point of the xxx. now to most people, the solo x is a more proven spl sub than the xxx so they'd drop it on the solo vs. xxx often i'd imagine? i know i wanted my bud's shop to pick up RE but after he got their dealer cost pricing he knew there was no way in hell anyone would drop that $ on them based on sight seen. i know maybe 3 people who've ran RE in austin other than myself, we were/are all happy with the stuff but i'll never again buy RE. 650 cost on a XXX is insane i don't care how much custom tooling is done to it.
I assume when you say 650 dealer you are not taliking about a 12. XXXs and Soloxs are not in most of my customers budget anyway. Entry level and mid level is were it is at. Dealer on a RE10 is less than a comp10. Dealer on a VR10 is almost the same as a SR10.Dealer on a SE10 is about the same as dealer on a L510. dealer on a SX10 is about the same as a L710. Dealer on MTs are much less than solos, and that is what you should be comparing the solo to, not the XXX.

Yes, I know this. SS is the closest dealer, an on top of that Ray was giving me a cheaper price than usual, a bit under 4, but not much. Trust me i'm not goin back on 2 15" Magnums from ANYTHING RE anymore.

isn't cost on the l5 around 115-120 bucks? so cost on the se is under 125? **** people are charging over double that for em' in a shop. i won't touch RE anymore, other than a XXX or MT, IMO they're no better than other companies mid to semi-upper level. that's going off owning all but an MT so my MT assumption is that the rest is just my usage.

Dealer on a 10L5 before discounts is more than 120. Dealer on SE10 before discounts is less than 10L5.

In a retail situation sometimes people are scared to by products like that. Imagine some young kid that comes in wanting to see something eye catching, that has always heard thet RF, KIcker, JL is the only way to go.To them brown boxes mean cheap, they feel like I am pushing crap on themAlot of time people are swayed away from RE because of this,

compared to this,

seriously if people buy subs based on how the box looks or what catches there eye..they dont need to be buying any car audio gear

last time i heard we listen to subs not look at boxes

i have 2 admit i do like there new boxes...but i dont buy subs based on how good looking the box is

Well if you just see a old RE box you think why is it in a plain box shouldnt it be in a box with its name all over it so some people might think their not a reptuable company if they dont have a "offical" looking box, i think its a good idea for the new boxes most likely will get more people to give them a chance that dont know much about car audio. If i ever switch up my subs most likely i would buy some re subs.

Basically everything you said x2.

CompVR's are now the same price as the RE RE series and i'd put my money on the comp VR to have a slight edge in ouput on the mic.

an SE cost as much as an L7 and the L7 would walk all over the SE and output. SQ is another subject.

Hell for the price of a SE you can now get a w6v2 with some change left over...VERY compareable subs and JL is proven to the main stream.

I'd also put my money on the SoloX vs an XXX...not even bringing up the MX or MT because i'd bethe soloX would walk on both.

Before this sudden mainstream jump RE was a great value per perfomrance and where gaining popularity. Thank god they have the owner of USamps to help them along because i dont think they would have made it any other way.

i don't know where i'd put my money on XXX vs Solo and definetly no idea on MT vs. Solo. I only say that b/c i've been told the xxx's can take as much power as a solo x which is insane plus it has insane throw. i want a xxx just don't have the car or need for one. now if i can convince my fiance to let me put a big *** box in her tribute on 3kw of power for the XXX then i'll buy one:D.

this is well spoken.

None of us would be buying a sub based on the box looks, but we know what they can do.

the car audio market on the retail level, is a very large percentage of noobx's, as well as some of the sellers/installers. not saying that people would BUY the RE Brand because they have nicer looking boxes, but they will definately get a lot more looks, than a basic brown box sub. Common sense will tell you that. I wouldnt ever buy a sub based on the box either, but again, you must remember that working with products, you know whats good, and whats junk, and how to tell the difference. Honestly they had to do something to be getting more looks. It's either add more bling to the speaker itself, which is ***, or add flair to the boxes.

Way to go RE, I personally hope they do well, because something should sell based on the performance, not be held back due to the lack of presentation.
