replacing type r's

I currently have 2 12" type r's in a 4 cuft box tuned to 35hz on 2000 watts. Im looking to replace them with a single 12" that will be able to get just as loud in a little smaller box. Would a 12" HD3 be able to get as loud in a 3.5 cuft box tuned to 40hz on 2000 watts? Or any other suggestions for under $300.

why not a 15? what ohm is your amp stable too?

My trunk is only 13.5 inches high and ive heard subs dont sound good firing up in a trunk. My amp is a cadence zrs-9 so 2000 at 1 ohm.

isnt the xxx a sql sub. im looking for mostly spl because the sq on the r's is plenty. Is it actually going to be able to get as loud.
