Replacing my sub+amp

I had a Audiobahn Alum12Q (1000W RMS 2000Wmax) sub and a Power Acoustic OV2-1600. The amp was running at about 600Wrms @ 3 ohms.

Tomorrow im going to get a rockford Punch Lvl 3 sub (Dual 2 ohm version 500w RMS) with the 5002 amp (500x1 mono @ 4 ohms..... *i think*)

Will these compare? Im thinking that my old setup will be better.. but ive never had any rockford so im not sure, just looking for opinions.

Ohh and they will be/was in a 1.25 CF sealed box.

what size is the new sub? if a 12 im going to say the one with more power will probaly be louder, just because your pushing 100 watts more power to it. I have not heard the audiobahns though.

Whops, sorry... yeah a 12.

Anyone else have any input?

I can easily send the amp and sub back and then get the Power lvl 2 with a better amp.

Should I sell the stuff and get something better for the same price? Im open to any and all opinions.

Is 1 600W sub with a 600W amp as good as 2 300W subs with 1 300x2 amp?

From what ive read, more subs, the more air it moves, which could be considered "better". True?
