Replacing my CVX's

4 cubes tuned to 36hz

I would tune it much lower, closer to 30.. Or possibly try going sealed. I would try all options rather than going with a new setup. Easy way to waste money though I guess.

CVX's are fairly mediocre subs, lets face it. And HDC3's? If you are asking about their SQ, you should be looking elsewhere. And Elemental Designs funds Al-Qaeda so I would avoid them as well.

I have the money for a new set up so I'm fine on that part. Right now I'm leaning towards buying a Nine.1 Nine.4 and (2) 12" RE SE's in about 4 or 5 cubes tuned to 33hz.

For better sound quality, which would sound better 2 12" Fi SSD's or RE SE's? These would be ran off of a Nine.1

I really liked my CVX sealed off 750rms. Played most music really well. I would also try a sealed box first to see how you like that. Cheaper route and might satisfy you. Might lose some output, but you said you didn't care.

Not the best sq sub by any means, but You can make most subs sound good in the right box, so no point in wasting money if he may like how it sounds in another box.

I sold them already and I am trying to decide between a 15" Fi Q with BP or 2 12" RE SE's ran off of a Nine.1

The best you can do is try to listen to then, but if you can, just get the brand you like the most. Opinions change from people o people, a lot of people say that Kicker is bad for SQ, but they're not that bad, certanly they are not the best, but in proper box you can make then sound really nice.

For your options both are great subs, if i have to chose i like the 2 re better, but that's just me.
