Replacing 3way with 2 way?!?

Hello forum

Due to wrong information I thought i have a 2 way front door speakers and bought a pair of 2 way focal 165A1, after installation, just to find out i actually have a 3 way settings. What the installer did was he connect the new speaker (2 of them of each side) and leave the 3rd one still connected.

I had factory speakers and was really hoping the focal will do miracle:laugh:, apparently not, i really do not hear much difference and am quite disappointed.

Question to you experts, by replacing a 3 way to 2 way, did i do something stupid? Installer has suggested to disconnect the 3rd existing one, should i do that?

Any info/guidance is much appreciated!!!
