RCA cable had a short now driver side tweeter blown

As stated one of the rca's had a short in it which would cause the driver side component set to stop working until i wiggled it a little bit. Now the driver side tweeter has completely stopped working and the crossover seems to be the problem. I have the Boston Acoustics SPZ50 and when working the crossover would have lights flashing on the inside. There aren't anymore flashing lights so i'm assuming the crossover is blown or something. I'm just trying to figure out if the short in the RCA cable had anything to do with the blowing of the tweeter or crossover.
