Replacement question

I recently (last week) blew one of my 12" Pioneer TS-W309D2s, and my Pioneer GM-D9601 amp is making a weird noise and is likely dying now too. The box I'm using is a dual chamber sealed box with roughly 1 cuft space in mustang convertible.

It was recommended I go with a pair of JL Audio W0s and an Alpine amp... but this was from a local store vendor (who did my install).

Are the JL Audio W0's better then what I had? are they worth the cost, or is there better/cheaper?

My budget is around $500 for 12" subs and new amp what would you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance for you time...

(I've been out of the audio thing for a while, so a lil lost on what to get)

So all wiring is there the shop will just install new sub and amp? For $500 you can get a single 12 ported off 1k watts rms and itll slam like mever before. Id definately go custom ported with a single 12 the. Dual sealed 12s

I had the 12W1.V2 JL sub ported on about 170 Alpine watts and it sounded good. You could do a single 12W1.V3 ported on 300watts and it will sound really great.

Before the blown 12, it hit decently hard... moreso in the car, it sounded really good.

I want to keep 2 12s (sealed box), but since I likely have to replace the amp too and would rather run matching subs.. I am not sure JL w0s are worth the price versus others... and would like to find an amp that pushes what my current Pioneer GM-D9601 pushes (800w) or more //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Bump...

I would like to know of a good "dependable" brand (subs and amp) to go with and have at least the same power/sound I had before...

Been out of the audio thing for a long while, and am hoping one of the gurus here can point me in the right direction.

Not that I would not want JL Audio, but they seem a lil overpriced imo... just trying to match what I had before, and stay within budget and hopefully not have to replace anything for a long while. My old sub lasted only 6 months...
