Replace 2 15"CVRs with 1 15" CVX

I'm thinking about selling my two 2005 Kicker CVRs, and with the money get one 2007 15" or 12" CVX. I bought my CVRs in 2005, and at the time I wanted more SPL since I listened mostly to rap. Now I'm very into reggae, and reggae is more SQ bass. I love how my 15"s in a ported box hit the lows, but would a 15" CVX in a sealed box hit the SQ better? The main reason I don't want to just go for a 12" CVX is b/c the amp I have now is a Hifonics 1000watt RMS rated, and about 800-900 RMS real. Would that be too much if I turn my levels down low with a 12" CVX that is rated 750RMS max.

ypu should be fine, my single cvx 12 is getting abot 875 rms and handles it like a champ

Are you sure about that? I will have the same wattage going to one driver, instead of two. I know it won't be equal in loudness but I'm hoping it will be close. Also I had bought the two 15"s for a suburban(Which I totaled), now I have them in an undersized box in my accord. So really I don't have much of an option. Now I just don't know if I should get the 12" or the 15". Is the CVX any better with SQ then the CVRs? I think I would prefer a 15", and I will if I could just get some better SQ with a sealed box. One more thing is how do u get better SQ with a small sealed box or a bigger one?

I had 2, 12" CVR's in a sealed box and got rid of them to get my 1, 15" CVX in a 4ft^3 at 32Hz ported box sounds SO much better. I have it on a ZX1000.1 AMP and that sub can take more easily.

I wanna go for the 12" b/c of truck space. For the past two years I've had to use my backseat as a trunk and I'm sick of it. I'm going to build the 12" into my truck for optimum space. Bass isn't as important to me since I started listening to reggae. I've also decided to sell my amp as well and get a Kicker zx750.1. Good Idea right?

I've had kickers for the past 5 years. I think they are solid subs and very durable. Durability is more important then SQ to me. You also can't beat the price, I'm getting a 12"CVX for $180. If I were to get another sub it would probably be a JL.

Get the 12" and the ZX750.1 Amp, those amps push around 930 anyways, so you WON'T be dissapointed!

Im a Kicker fan as you can tell from the sig, and dude the CVX does have SQ. Way more than the CVR's and I know this from experiance.

why so?? In the big 12 woofer challenge, some judges actually liked the SQ of the CVX 12".....

Agreed Cvxs do have great sq for them being a kicker sub.......IMO greatest sound kicker sub i have heard and owned
