Rendezvous Wiring Problems

So I was installing a fusion subwoofer into a 2004 rendezvous with a stock HU. I spliced into the stock harness wires for my accesory, and for the speaker wires. When I connect the battery and plugged the stock HU harness the radio says "Locked" and now the headlights, fog lights, windows, intrument cluster and dome lights do not work.

I've checked every fusy both under the dash and the hood and they all seem fine none are blown. What could be the problem here?

you should probably get an aftermarket head unit, the stock head unit would most likely be the problem.

I will try to see if this works since i have an aftermarket HU laying around i'll just need to get a harness for it now.

usually alot of newer GM vehicles have an RDS(radio data system) radio.and 99% of the time when the stock HU is disconnected or the battery is unplugged it will reset the HU.most of the time the code to unlock them is in the owners manual,if not then youll have to take it in to your local dealer and have it reprogrammed(free-$90 fee)

check what wires you are spliced into. newer GM cars' HUs communicate with the vehicles computer. if you broke that wire(s) then the HU would say "Locked" and not power up. the computer may also deny power to other systems, but i don't know for sure.
