im new to the car audio scene and i wanna remove the bose headunit and install an aftermarket cd player and remove the speakers but my car has woodgrain. would the wood grain affect it in anyway? and if anyone cares to explain how to remove the headunit it would be great. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

sure......take the ac controls and air vents out(one piece), then take the trim piece around the shifter off, and the ash tray, there should be 4 bolts holding the woodgrain piece in....take them out and pull the whole thing out....there's 4 bolts on the headunit it self...2 on each side

if you plan on using an after market h\u i would by pass the bose amps....they are on the back of every speaker

there is no amp in the trunk..... there's 4 amps, one on the back of every speaker, this isn't totally neccessary but mine went out in a matter of months

what do you mean went out in a few months? so it wasnt necessary to bypass em? i heard if you dont bypass em, the sq of your aftermarket speakers wouldnt be as good.

thats not really true 100% all the time....i would bypass them, unless you don't feel like it now, but in the furture you may have a problem
